Feng Shui 2018: What Not to Do in Your House

Year 2018 is coming, it is time to make adjustments to the Feng Shui of your home, to make this a prosperous year. Some of you may plan to place Feng Shui decorations in your house. But before you make any changes to your home decoration, let me remind you things that you absolutely should not do in 2018.

Worst Feng Shui Direction in 2018

In Chinese Feng Shui we divide the space into nine mansions, i.e. the eight directions and the central mansion. In each year, there is a mansion that has the worst energy among all. It is the mansion that you should absolutely avoid touching.

In 2018, the worst mansion of all, which is occupied by a Flying Star associated with bad luck and troubles, is North.

What Not to Do in the Worst Direction – North

We should absolutely avoid carrying out building works in the Northern corner in the house in 2018. Building works include construction, repair, alteration, demolition and any other works that involve the building fabric, such as the floor, wall and ceiling.

Feng Shui 2018: Don't do these things

The Flying Star in this direction in 2018 has enormous power in Feng Shui, and it should never be tampered with. Even the most experienced Feng Shui master would avoid carrying out works in this direction.

What if the ceiling in this direction is broken and necessitates a repair? If that is the case, try to choose an auspicious date, begin the works in a good direction first and gradually extend the works to the North. If in doubt, consult your local Feng Shui master.

Now you know which direction is the worst in 2018. Next time, I will tell you other Feng Shui tips for 2018. Stay tuned!

Feng Shui 2017 (3) – Good Directions in Year of Rooster

Happy Lunar New Year!

In my last two articles about the worst direction and some other bad directions, we have seen too many bad Feng Shui directions for 2017. This time, we shall see some good directions.

You may wonder why this article is published after the Lunar New Year. The fact is, many people are not aware that the Chi of a year does not change right at the first day of the Lunar New Year. According to Feng Shui theories, a year begins on the first day of Spring, which is usually 4 February. In other words, all Feng Shui settings for a new year should only be installed on or after 4 February.

This year, the time of Spring is quite tricky. In many parts of the world, it happens on the 3 February 2017, but in other parts of the world it happens on the 4 February 2017. My advice is you could do all Feng Shui settings on 4 February 2017. It doesnt hurt to start one day late, right? After reading this article, you still have time to prepare for your fortunate year!

Feng Shui 2017

The Most Powerful Feng Shui Direction in 2017

According to Chinese Feng Shui theories, the most powerful Flying Star in the Eighth Yun (Period), which is from 2004 to 2023, is Flying Star 8. This Star occupies East in 2017 Year of Rooster.

For this reason, most Feng Shui masters ask you to put a water fountain or some lucky stuff in this direction. In a way, yes, you could consider East as the luckiest Feng Shui direction in 2017, because the most powerful Flying Star comes to here. The energy here is full.

Just remember, there are always exceptional cases. In some houses, the use of this most powerful Feng Shui Flying Star may lead to bad luck. Why? Becasue it is so powerful! If in this direction there is also a bad Sha (deadly Feng Shui problem), Flying Star 8 would increase the power of the Sha too. It is just like adding fuel to the fire.

So, if you want to leverage the power of Flying Star 8, always consult a local Feng Shui master who could go to your house to check. If not, and you found that you encounter problems in your life, stop placing the Feng Shui stuff in this direction, whatever it may be.

Good Feng Shui Direction for Career / Study in 2017

Flying Star 4 occupies Northeast in 2017 Year of Rooster. If you place your desk here, you may be able to make the most out of this Star.

Again, if you find any problem after doing Feng Shui in this direction, stop immediately.

Good Feng Shui Direction for Relationship in 2017

Lastly, the best direction for love and relationship in 2017 is the centre of your house. Flying Star 1 goes to here. If you are eager to have a boost, place a beautiful vase with some colourful flowers here. Only real flowers count, plastic ones have no power at all. Again, stop doing this if anything undesirable happens, because the Sha that originally exists in the centre of your house, if any, may have bad effect if combined with this Flying Star.

Feng Shui 2017 (2) – Other Bad Directions

Last time, we learnt which is the worst Fung Shui direction in 2017.  This time, let us look at other bad directions in 2017.

Feng Shui 2017

Flying Star 2 – Sickness

Flying Star 5 brings disaster and everything unfortunate, Flying Star 2 is about sickness.  That’s why all Chinese Feng Shui books ask people to avoid if these two Flying Stars are together.

In 2017 Year of Rooster, Flying Star 2 will be located in Northwest.  In other words, if the entrance door, bedroom, kitchen or toilet in your house is located in the Northwest corner, you family members may have a higher chance of having health issues, ranging from more frequent common flu to serious illness or injury.

What not to do: do not hang anything in red or orange colour in this direction.  Avoid all building works as well.

Shui Puo and San Sha

Shui Puo is a direction against the God of the Year.  This is why you should never carry out any building works in this direction.  In 2017, Shui Puo is located in East.

San Sha is another very bad direction.  It literally means “triple killings”.  In fact, it is where the bad energy accumulates in a year, so it is yet another very bad Feng Shui direction.  In 2017, San Sha is also located in East.

See?  East has double troubles.  Although it is still not as bad as South where Flying Star 5 situates, my advice is never do any building works in this direction.  Avoid moving furniture in this corner too.

Tai Shui

Tai Shui is where the God of the Year locates for the whole year.  This is a very important Feng Shui direction.  In 2017, it is located in West.

Again, do not carry out any building works in this direction.  Otherwise, you may get the God of the Year mad and get yourself in deep trouble.

So these are the bad Feng Shui directions in 2017.  Next time, we shall meet the good ones, i.e. the fortunate Feng Shui directions!

How to Choose a Feng Shui Hotel Room?

For most of the time people study Feng Shui for their homes or offices.  The topic of this article is a bit different.  I would not tell you what constitutes a good Feng Shui home or office.  Instead, I will teach you how to choose a Feng Shui hotel room.  In other words, after reading this article, you would know how to select a hotel room with good Feng Shui when you are on vacation or business trip.

Does it really matter to find a Feng Shui hotel room?  It depends.  If you have just a short stay for one or two nights, the Feng Shui of the hotel room does not really matter.  But if you have a long stay or you are having a business trip for an important business meeting, a good Feng Shui room could how to bring good luck.

Feng Shui Hotel Floor Level

If you studied my Feng Shui Master Class, you would know how to choose lucky floor level.  Even if you don’t, here is a quick tip.

In 2014, the luckiest floor levels are those ending with 6, i.e. 6, 16, 26, 36, 46, etc.  If possible, when you check in at the concierge, tell the hotel staff that you want a floor level ending with 6.  Unless the hotel is really fully booked, usually the hotel staff would be able to fulfill your requirement.

There is one thing to note.  We need to count the actual floor number.  Sometimes the floor levels are not in simple 1, 2, 3, 4… sequence.  Instead, the floor levels may be G, UG, Podium, L1, L2, etc.  In Feng Shui, we count the real floor number only.  So the ground level is 1/F, 2/F is one floor above, 3/F is next… all the way to the highest floor.  We do not skip unlucky floor numbers like 13.  The 6, 16, 26, 36, floors here refer to the real floor number.

Feng Shui Hotel Room

Now that the first requirement is met, it is time to examine the hotel room.  Firstly, avoid choosing the last room in the corridor, i.e. the room at the dead end.  We believe that the energy, a.k.a. Chi, needs to flow.  The Chi at the end of a corridor is stagnant, so a room located there is usually not preferred.

We also do not prefer a door to door situation.  This happens when the door of your room faces the door of the opposite room.  Nowadays hotel doors are usually positioned alternatively for better circulation so this should not be a big problem.

Preferably, your hotel room should not be adjacent or directly opposite to the elevator.  The first reason of this requirement is that the elevator could be noisy, either due to the mechanics (doors opening and closing) or the elevator passengers who produce noise.  Secondly, the Chi around elevators could be messy.

Finally, the directions of the hotel room must be good.  For this, you should refer to my free Feng Shui guide, which explains the good and bad directions in this year.  In 2014, South is the best direction, so if the door of the hotel room opens to South, the room is not bad.  Besides, the bed is preferably be in a good direction as well, such as South, North, Southwest or West.

With all these criteria met, the hotel room should be a Feng Shui place to stay for a few nights.

Feng Shui Mirrors – What Do They Do?

Mirror is a common furniture in almost everybody’s home.  We usually have a mirror in the toilet, a mirror in the wardrobe and sometimes even one in the kiving room.  If mirror has an impact on Feng Shui, its effect would inevitably be felt by almost everyone of us.

Feng Shui Mirrors – What Do They Do?

A few weeks ago I came across a term called Feng Shui mirror.  Somebody was selling such kind of thing in a local market.  The seller claimed that by hanging the mirror on the wall you would get better luck.

Does Feng Shui mirror ever exists?  Before I answer this question I should explain the effects of mirror in Feng Shui.

We all know mirror reflects light.  If you switch on a torch and point it to a mirror, you will see the light being reflected back to you.  The stronger the light of the torch, the stronger the reflected light.

Feng Shui Mirrors

Mirror has the function of a reflector in Feng Shui.  If there is good Chi in a particular corner of your house, it reflects the good Chi.  On the other hand, if there is bad Chi it brings it out.  The stronger the Chi the bigger the impact.  If there is a mirror in a sickness direction, the mirror will bring out the bad energy.

You may consider mirror a amplifier of energy.  It does not filter the energy, i.e. it would not block out bad energy or convert bad energy into good.  So in practice there is no such thing as Feng Shui mirror because every ordinary mirror can do everything a Feng Shui mirror can do.

The Best Practice of Using Feng Shui Mirrors

So the truth about Feng Shui mirror is that it has good effect only if you place it in  he right place.  If you are not sure where the good / bad directions of your house is, my recommendation is to avoid putting mirrors at unnecessary locations.  Only put them in the toilet and where you make up and dress.

If you can get an expert’s help, mirror could really be used for good Feng Shui.  For example, many Feng Shui masters use Feng Shui to magnify the positive effects of the good Flying Stars in good directions.

Besides, sometimes Feng Shui masters would use convex mirrors to reduce the bad effects of external “Sha”.  “Sha” is something bad in shape that could constitute a threat to the Feng Shui of your house.  A typical example of external “Sha” is a sharp angle pointing to your house’s door or window.  In this case, some Feng Shui masters would hang a convex mirror facing the “Sha” in hope of reducing the bad effects experienced.

If in doubt, ask a local Feng Shui master!

Door Facing Door Feng Shui and Remedies

The topic of this article is door facing door Feng Shui.  I think many of you have heard of a saying that a door facing another door is bad Feng Shui.  Do you know how bad this situation could be and what adverse effects it could bring?  Read on to know more.

The Significance of Door

Before we analyse the different door-to-door situations, let us first learn why door Feng Shui is important.

Feng Shui is basically the examination of energy and Chi.  The flow of energy and Chi is therefore a critical part of Feng Shui.  According to Chinese Feng Shui theories, the openings of a house are where the Chi flows in and out.  We call these openings “氣口” in Chinese, which literally means “the mouth of Chi”.

Door is the most common kind of Chi opening.  This is why when we determine the orientation of a building, we use the main entrance door as a reference.  When we say a building faces North and backs South, we mean that the main entrance door is located in North of the house when measured from the center point of the building.  The Flying Star Map of the house is drawn according to this orientation, and we base our interpretation of the building’s Feng Shui 100% on the Flying Star Map.  So in summary, the direction of a door is critical to the Feng Shui of a building.

This is why door is important to Feng Shui of a building.  Just consider it as the mouth of yourself, what you eat and drink could have significant impacts on your health, isn’t it?

Feng Shui for Education Luck – Some Simple Tricks

I am frequently asked by people, usually parents, on Feng Shui for education luck.  On the other hand, there are other people who reject this idea, because they think that education counts on the efforts individuals made.  The more diligent you are the better results you get in the examination.  These people think that we shouldn’t rely on Feng Shui to achieve education / examination goals, and it simply doesn’t work.  Which side is true?

Feng Shui examines the relationship among time, place and people.  People is the factor that we can control.  If you work harder, there is a higher chance you get a better examination result.  But the two former factors are not 100% under our control.  This is where Feng Shui comes in for education.  But applying Feng Shui for education, we are not solely relying on the “magical power” of Feng Shui.  The student still needs to put efforts in studying, we simply put efforts in the other two factors as well.

Feng Shui for Education Luck – Exterior

In ancient times, Chinese study for only one reason, they all want to win in the government examination and become a government official.  It was the best way to get rich and powerful.  So when people wanted to enhance the education luck, the methods they use would be linked to this goal.

For example, since all government officials at that time wore a hat in a particular shape, which they called it Wu Sha (烏紗), it was suggested that having a mountain / hill near you house which has a Wu Sha shape is good for education.  Below is a photo of a real Wu Sha found in the grave of a government official of the Ming Dynasty.  If there is a mountain / hill that looks similar to it (i.e. high in the middle and lower on both sides, all three has a round top), the region near the mountain / hill has good Feng Shui for education luck.

Feng Shui for Education Luck - Wu Sha

Another external form factor Feng Shui element that we look for is a tall hill with a relatively narrow base.  In Feng Shui, there is a tool called Wen Chang Tower, 文曲塔 in Chinese, which could boost the education luck.  If there is naturally a tower-like hill near your home, it is also an area with good Feng Shui for education.  In modern society, a tall and slender building could also be regarded as a Wen Chang Tower.

Thirdly, if there is any education-related buildings, such as a school or library, that is located near your house, it is also a sign of good Feng Shui for education.

No matter Wu Sha, Wen Chang Tower or school/library, the direction where it locates also matter.  We will see where are the good directions later in this article.

Feng Shui for Education Luck – Interior

The external environment is not 100% controlled by us.  So Feng Shui masters usually implement internal strategies for Feng Shui for education.  One very commonly used tool is lucky bamboo.  Just find out the good direction for education and place a vest with four pieces of lucky bamboo, the simplest Feng Shui method for education luck is done.  Why so?

Feng Shui for Education Luck - Lucky Bamboo

In Feng Shui, the quantity “4” is related to Flying Star 4 that governs study, job promotion and fame.  The green color is good for promoting the power of Flying Star 4, so as the “wooden” nature of the lucky bamboo.  In short, we are actually using the luck bamboo to boost the power of the Flying Star 4.  This is just a brief explanation of the reason behind.  If you are a student of my online Feng Shui Master Class, you would know more about how this mechanism and many other Feng Shui techniques work.

So the critical question is where the lucky direction is.  It is the location where the Flying Star 4 situates.  In theory, the Feng Shui direction for education luck varies from one house to another (again, you can learn it in my online Feng Shui Master Class).  So here is a simpler trick you can use.  It is to find out the location of the yearly Flying Star 4!

There is a set of Flying Stars that changes the disposition every year.  In year 2013, this star locates in Southeast.  So, if you want to enhance the education / examination luck, place a vest with four lucky bamboo in Southeast.  Please note that it is the Southeast corner measured from the center of the flat / house.

Similarly, if the Wu Sha / Wen Chang Tower / library or school is located in the Southeast direction outside your house, it is a sign of good Feng Shui for education in 2013.

For the coming years, you simply have to download my FREE Feng Shui guide every year.  It is published every year to tell you how to use Feng Shui to boost luck in the coming year.

Door Threshold for Good Feng Shui

Door threshold is common for doors separating the external and internal areas, as well as for those doors between the kitchen/toilet and the living room.  But do you know it is also a Feng Shui tool?  Yes it is!

In the past, door threshold was mainly used for protecting the house from ingress of water in Chinese societies.  This is why door threshold is particularly common in Southern China, because the average rainfall in this area is more than Northern China.  No matter rain drops or water flooding, a high door threshold could serve as a very good protection.  Sometimes a door threshold at the entrance could be as tall as a feet (i.e. around 330mm).  These thresholds are not good for people’s use because you may be knocked down by it easily.  However, the risk of flooding was high in the past, so people had to design such tall thresholds.

Door Threshold in Fodbidden City

A door in Forbidden City, Beijing (CC Licence: Mary Leonard)

Nowadays, door threshold has less practical use in modern residential units.  Many people live in multi-storey apartments where the common corridor/lobby on each floor is also an internal area where no rain water could get in.  Even for detached houses, the risk of water flooding in modern cities would be low.  So the door threshold is seen by many as having decorative use only.

Ancient Door Threshold Feng Shui

However, from a Feng Shui master’s point of view a door threshold has a very important role.  It is to curb the loss of wealth.  We believe that the door threshold could separate the internal and external area so that the movement of good Chi (energy) out of the house could be reduced.  Similarly, we also believe that the threshold could bar the ingress of negative Chi (a.k.a. Sha, 煞 in Chinese).

You may wonder how the door threshold could be so magical that it could detect the type of Chi and block negative Chi while allowing good Chi to move in.  Could the little door threshold be so powerful?  Yes, but not without something else.

Five Emperor Coins for Door Threshold Feng Shui

There is a Feng Shui tool called “Coins of the Five Emperors” (五帝古錢 in Chinese).  This set of coins are old coins that were produced when five particular emperors were running the Qing Dynasty (清朝 in Chinese).  This period was regarded as the most thriving period in that Dynasty.  These coins were used by numerous people, so that have the Chi and power of people.  According to Feng Shui theories, these coins has the power to purify the energy in the space.  They could also filter out bad Chi.  In the past, when people build the door threshold they would firstly lay these five coins on the ground before covering them up with the threshold stone.  With these coins, the threshold would have the power to filter out negative Chi and retain positive Chi.  Simply put, door threshold Feng Shui is not about the threshold itself but how we make it powerful by using Feng Shui techniques.

Modern Door Threshold Feng Shui

Nowadays, you can buy these coins from Amazon.  However, it would be quite troublesome to take down the threshold, add the coins and re-install the threshold.  Still, we could use “modern Feng Shui” skills to make the threshold complies with Feng Shui principles.

Firstly, ordinary threshold should have at least 1 inch tall.  If your entrance door faces the stair or elevator, you should heighten the threshold to enhance the power to curb the loss of wealth.

Secondly, check the threshold to see if there is any cracks or damages.  It would be very bad Feng Shui if the thredhold has cracks or damages on it.  You should immediately replace it.  So, if possible, you should choose hard and rigid materials to make the threshold.

Finally, do not choose dark color for the threshold.  You should use bright and light colors.  Red color should also be avoided because it resembles fire.

Feng Shui Painting – What and Where?

Painting is a great choice for decorating your home, as well as a good tool for Feng Shui purpose.  In Chinese society, people like hanging paintings with beautiful mountain and water scenery on the walls at home.  They believe that such paintings could bring good luck to the family.  But the use of painting in Feng Shui is not as simple as that.

In this article we’ll talk about Feng Shui painting, how to choose a suitable one and where to place it at home.

Feng Shui Painting – What Type to Choose?

For Feng Shui painting, we care about the content of the painting and what message it brings.  Here are some general rules that you should follow.

Bad Feng Shui Paintings

I think you could easily tell that those with a negative message would not be a good choice.  For example, a painting with a big black crow is definitely not good for use in the living room or bedroom.  These places deserve an atmosphere of harmony and sweetness.

Feng Shui Painting - Bad Example

(Bad example: The sinking Titanic; Public Domain Image Source: Wikipedia)

Similarly, painting that shows a fall or winter scene with falling leaves is not good.  Chinese believe that a flourishing spring or summer view is better, the cold and lonely fall and winter view carries a bad meaning.

A third kind of bad choice is violent wild animal.  I once saw a large roaring lion painting in the living room of a house.  The house owner thought that it looks good, but the problem is the strong power of the lion is not suitable for everyone.  Usually only people who work in the military, police force, etc. should have such kind of painting at home.

Finally, according to traditional Feng Shui belief it is not recommended to hang the photo or painting of deceased people at home.  I know it is very common for Westerners to put up the photo or painting of their ancestors on walls, but according to Chinese Feng Shui thing may bring negative energy to the house.  If you really want to place the photo of your ancestors, choose a smaller one which stands on the table but not a big one on wall.

Good Feng Shui Paintings

On the other hand, there are some good paintings for Feng Shui purpose.  Firstly, paintings that carry positive meaning, such as wedding, new year celebration, blossoming flower, etc. are Feng Shui paintings that you should use.

Feng Shui Painting - A Good Example

(Good example: Beautiful scene; Public Domain Image Source: Wikimedia Commons)

Secondly, beautiful scenery.  Good choices include sun, sea and the beach, pool side view, winding river, etc.  We believe that such paintings could calm us down and bring peace to our mind, so they are good Feng Shui paintings.

Feng Shui Painting – Where to Place Them?

Basically, if the painting is good for Feng Shui use, it does not matter where you put it in your house.  However, I have a few recommendations for you.

Feng Shui Painting in Living Room

(Image under CC Licence: Source)

For positive effects, you may consider placing the Feng Shui painting in the lucky directions of the year, such as where the Flying Stars 8 and 9 are located.  If you are not sure where these stars are located, you should download my FREE yearly Feng Shui guide which tells you where are good and bad directions of a year.  You can find the hyperlink on top of this web site.

On the other hand, we want to protect the paintings, so we should not place them at where there is strong Chi movement.  Therefore, we should not place the paintings directly opposite to door openings or at the end of long corridors.

Finally, some people like placing wedding photos at home.  This is not a bad idea.  But remember not to place them at bad directions (again, refer to my FREE Feng Shui guide to know where these directions are).  Besides, if you place them in the bedroom, put them near the end of the bed but not the head.  This could enhance harmony and intimacy.

Yearly and Monthly Flying Star Feng Shui Case Studies [Final Master Class]

Welcome back.  This is the last lesson in the Feng Shui Master Class.  Thank you for following us through the end.  In the last 31 weeks you have already learnt a great deal of Feng Shui.  From Feng Shui theories to Form Feng Shui essentials, from Ba Gua Feng Shui to Flying Star Feng Shui, the knowledge delivered through this Master Class is well enough for not only self-assessment but also doing Feng Shui for other people.  Time flies, it is time to say goodbye.  There are certainly more to discuss in Feng Shui, please frequently come back to Feng Shui DIY, I will from time to time post Feng Shui articles discussing matters from elementary to expert levels.

Let’s come back to this lesson.  This time we do not study the static Flying Star Map of a house, but the dynamic Yearly and Monthly Flying Star Maps.  I said they are dynamic because according to traditional Flying Star Feng Shui theories, the Flying Star dispositions changes every year (the Yearly Flying Star Map) as well as every month (the monthly Flying Star Map).  On the other hand, the Flying Star Map of your house does not change unless you demolish the house or have a major renovation.

It is relatively not difficult to examine the static Flying Star Map of a house, because once the judgment is made it is valid forever (you just need to take into account of the change of Period and the corresponding change in prevailing stars).  However, since there are Yearly and Flying Star Maps, we also need to examine the effects of the dynamic Flying Stars on the static Flying Star Map.  This is the theme of this final lesson.

Dynamic Flying Star Map “Sets”

There is one thing I need to remind you before we move on.  By saying Yearly and Monthly Flying Star Maps, we mean there are two “sets” of dynamic Flying Star Maps.  One is the Yearly Map the other is the Monthly Map.  In other words, in a given direction there exists one Flying Star which stays there for 12 months, at the same time there is another Flying Star that changes every month.  These two Stars co-exist.  DO NOT think that Yearly Flying Star Map is the “collective” way to describe the 12 month’s Flying Star Map.

By examining these two Stars’ impact on the static Flying Star Map of the house and the relationship between these two Stars themselves, we could predict much more events that may happen on the house and the occupiers.

Finally, although I explained the Yearly and Monthly Flying Star Maps here, there are even more.  Everyday there is a Daily Flying Star Map (in which the Stars changes their locations every day) and even Hourly Maps (the Stars changes their locations every two hours).  However, since the duration of these Maps are quite short, Feng Shui master would usually not take them into consideration.  Otherwise, how could ask the clients to change the Feng Shui settings every month?

Case (1) – Big Fire in a Village

This was a case happened in 1923 in China.  The exact location was in ZheJiang near Shanghai.  The whole village settlement was built at a location where there were high mountains in North and a junction of rivers in South.  Most people lived around the river junction in South for ease of getting water for all kinds of activities.

A big fire happened in the Ninth Month of the year and destroyed most houses.  Below are the Yearly and Monthly Flying Star Maps.  Please note what Stars were located in South in that Year and particularly in that Month.

Flying Star Feng Shui Case Studies (3) – Health Matters [Master Class 31]

It’s another week, we are back to the Feng Shui Master Class.  In the last two lessons, we have gone through five cases related to wealth and fame/job promotion.  After reading these cases, you should have realized that Feng Shui is much more than memorizing the rules.  You really need to match the external environment, interior layout and the status/need of the client to come up with a tailor-made solution.  There is really no such thing as universal Feng Shui setting that is applicable to all buildings.

This week, we’ll come back to a very commonly sought for Feng Shui goal, health.  We shall read two cases that illustrate how Feng Shui could affect the health of the occupants.  Although you probably would not live in a house with exactly the same situation, you would definitely be able to learn some ass-kicking Feng Shui techniques from these cases.

Feng Shui for Health

Case (1) – Double Sickness Star and Double Stars to Water

This is a typical case of how wealth and health may not co-exist in some Feng Shui cases.  The subject house was owned by an entrepreneur in Hong Kong whose last name is Ho.  The house was built in 2006, which was during the Eighth Period.  It was a detached house of three storeys, the whole house was owned by him and occupied by his family.

Below is the Flying Star Map of Mr. Ho’s house:

Health Flying Star Feng Shui Case 1

Let me first explain the external environment.  The house’s entrance door opens into West.  In front of the door was a garden with a large fish pond.  Mr. Ho loved keeping Koi (a kind of ornamental fish which is very expensive and popular in Japan and China).  There were eight fishes in that pond.

Mr. Ho has a son who was 16 years old when the Feng Shui analysis was done.  He lived in the Southeast corner on the first floor.  He loved this room because the windows open into Southeast for plenty of sunshine and cool wind.  (In Hong Kong, from micro-climate point of view the best direction to face is South because it is where the winds comes in Summer while the sun light would be adequate while not too much.  In winter, such orientation is also good because the cold wind comes from North, having no windows facing North helps to retain warmth in the room.)

Mr. Ho’s bedroom was located on the second floor of the house in the Northern corner.  The head of the bed was in North and the tail of the bed was pointing towards South.  He said that the fish pond and the orientation of the bed was suggested by a Feng Shui master.  The fish pond was designed for bringing wealth, while the bed should face South to resemble the orientation of the palace of ancient Chinese Emperors, so as to strengthen his power in the company he found.

Dear Master Class member, do you see any problem in the Feng Shui design?  Do you agree with the Feng Shui master that fish pond and bed orientation could help to achieve the goals?
